Crazy Sceduling

December 31st, 2014 | in |    0

There are times when I think I wander aimlessly through life but this is not one of them. Boy oh boy do we have a purpose this week! The Gods (of wine and food) must be crazy. How could so many different events be planned for a four day period? Like my friend Paul Jordan said “couldn’t we all have synched our schedules better?” With such an abundance of world class wines, importers, and venues, I guess the answer is, not yet. Tuesday starts with an International Cellars tasting at Market which is at the same time as the Seacove Group portfolio tasting at La Terrazza. Wed has the Spring Bloom VQA trade tasting at the Marriott Pinnacle in the afternoon followed by the public tasting later that evening, which also coincides with The BC Hospitality Assoc Dish n Dazzle event at the Fairmont Waterfront, which just happens to be at the same time as the Tinhorn Vineyards social media event at Urban Winery. I think there is also an event called Into the Vineyards at the Roundhouse Community center too.

Thursday has a Treasury Wine Estates tasting at the Four Seasons Hotel in the afternoon followed by a dinner that evening that coincides with a Charton and Hobbs Krug dinner at Blue Water, which just happens to be at the same time as an Okanagan Crush Pad dinner at Fraiche in West Vanc. There is another event at Urban Winery on Friday that escapes me right now but holy sheep stuff! I wanted to have a small casual open house at North Shore Wine Lockers on Friday aft but who will have the energy? That’s best planned for another week and I will check to see that there is nothing else scheduled that day! For those of you thinking of a career in the food and hospitality industry, schedules like this week leave a lot of explaining to your better half. It is physically impossible for me to attend all of these events this week but I’ll give it my best. Stay tuned. Cheers!
